Welcome to Peace at Hand Massage TherapyAt Peace at Hand, we believe that massage therapy should be available to every body, and we understand that taking the time to leave your home, office or family to take care of yourself is not always an option. We specialize in working "in the trenches," bringing a massage table or chair to you without charging extravagant outcall fees. We thrive in unusual settings, small spaces, chaotic surroundings, and understand that even 15 minutes of relaxation can improve your mind, body and spirit. Don't have a space suitable for massage, or just want a quiet escape? No problem. We'll arrange a space for you. In addition to hands-on massage services, we offer instruction in infant massage and couples massage, and we love to talk about our work!
All massage services are in the DC metro area, by appointment only. Whether you are looking for massage for relaxation, pain management or prenatal relief, Peace at Hand can help.
Please define an area where we will be working, and see that it is as free of obstacles as possible. We will work with whatever is available, but if there is a decision to make between two spaces, the one with more open area is best.
Pushing furniture to the edges of a room is helpful, as is picking up any children's or pets toys. If you know that you will need help preparing the space, please let us know ahead of time so that we can schedule your session accordingly.
If we will not be working in a private space, it is a great idea to inform anyone who is likely to wander through that a massage will be happening. It may not ensure that the space will be quiet or your massage will be uninterrupted, but at least there will be no surprises!
Consider what you can do to minimize distractions. Are you able to silence your telephone or answering machine? Leave a note on the door asking the mailman not to knock? Will you and your pet be happiest if they are in a different room, or will they want to snooze under the table? Do the people who count on you know that you will prefer not to be bothered for a time, and can you give them an opportunity to ask their questions and have their needs met before we begin?
